About Us

 

The Godwin Athletic Association (GAA) is the booster club for the Mills E. Godwin Eagles of Richmond,VA.  The operation of our association is conducted by our board of directors which is comprised of 32 officers and committee chairpersons.

Our Mission:

To encourage, support and actively contribute to the growth and continuing development of the total athletic program at Mills E. Godwin High School.

Our Contributions:

Recent or planned contributions to the program include funding for:

bullet Scoreboard at the Football stadium
bullet Indoor batting cage
bullet Landscaping for Tennis courts and Softball field
bullet Storage shed for Softball
bullet Field maintenance on various fields
bullet Wrestling mats
bullet Gymnastics mats
bullet Wireless scoreboard for gymnasium
bullet New PA at the Football stadium
bullet Improvements to the baseball field
bullet Donations to VHSL fund

Plans for 2010:

bullet Tennis Pavilion
bullet New gymnastics uneven bars
bullet New Softball scoreboard
bullet Assistance with upgrade to auxiliary field

Our Means:

We accomplish our mission through the following means:

bullet Concession stand sales at many sports events
bullet Annual Golf Tournament
bullet Fall, Winter and Spring Program sales
bullet Various individual and corporate donations of time and talent, materials, and/or financial consideration
bullet Other fund raisers through the Ways and Means committee
bullet Spiritwear sales and Spirit Nights at local restaurants
